　『名所江戸百景』は、歌川広重が幕末の1856～58年（安政3～5）年に手掛けた119景におよぶ錦絵の揃物（浮世絵版画のシリーズ）で、そこには土地と人への愛着が滲み出た四季折々の風景が、鮮やかに描かれています。
　18世紀中頃から人口100万人を超す世界屈指の大都市となった江戸は、異国人が目を見張るほど清潔で整備の行き届いた街でした。そんな「大江戸」の観光を“名所絵の広重”最晩年の傑作を通してお楽しみいただければ幸いです。
